The singer, who is currently divorcing estranged wife Jessica Simpson, has been dating stylist Kim Kardashian for a month, according to reports.
A source told America's People magazine: "They're sweet on each other. It's the beginning stages of a relationship."
The pair have been caught together in public more than once.
They were first spotted getting close at Hollywood nightclub, Shag, on May 15, then again nine days later holding hands as they came out of a screening of 'The Da Vinci Code' at a cinema in the trendy Westwood area of Los Angeles.
Both Nick, 32, and Kardashian have at least one thing in common - failed marriages.
